Seeking Wisdom from Above
Is it possible to be both wise and uncertain at the same time? For me, that was the paradox I faced as I navigated the complexities of ministry, family, and life. In my book "Whispers Beneath the Baobab", I share stories of how God's wisdom guided me through those uncertain moments.
As a pastor, I've learned to rely on human wisdom – studies, books, and experts in various fields. But when the stakes were high, and decisions felt overwhelming, I realized that my own understanding was limited. That's why I began seeking wisdom from above, trusting God's guidance to illuminate my path.
In those moments of desperation, I would often ask myself: "What would Jesus do?" And then, like a whispered promise, I'd sense His gentle nudge, urging me towards a specific course of action. It wasn't about having all the answers; it was about surrendering to God's sovereignty and embracing uncertainty.
One such moment came when my family and I faced a significant decision regarding our future. We were torn between two paths, each with its own set of pros and cons. As we prayed, seeking wisdom from above, God impressed upon me the importance of faithfulness – not just in our decisions but also in our walk with Him.
That realization didn't erase my doubts or fears, but it gave me the courage to take a leap of faith, trusting that God would catch us. And as we stepped into the unknown, His guidance became clearer, like a gentle stream flowing through the dry savannah.
The truth is, seeking wisdom from above isn't about having all the answers; it's about being willing to be guided by God's presence in our lives. When we seek Him with an open heart and mind, He imparts His wisdom, revealing what's ahead, even when the path seems uncertain.
As I look back on that season of uncertainty, I'm reminded that seeking wisdom from above is a daily exercise – one that requires humility, trust, and surrender. It's not about being wise; it's about being wise enough to know that we need God's guidance.
So, dear friends, I encourage you to seek wisdom from above, just as I did. Let the whispers of His guidance become your anchor in life's stormy weather. And when uncertainty knocks on your door, remember: God's wisdom is always available, guiding you through life's challenges and uncertainties.
