Practicing Patience

I'm still learning to practice patience.

When I was writing my book, "Whispers Beneath the Baobab", I had to confront a hard truth: God's timing is not always mine. In fact, it often takes me by surprise, leaving me wondering if I've misunderstood His plan altogether. But as I delved deeper into my own story and the stories of others, I realized that patience was the key to unlocking the beauty of His plan.

In those moments when life feels like it's moving at a glacial pace, it's easy to get restless and try to take matters into our own hands. I know I've been guilty of this – getting frustrated, feeling like God has forgotten about me or that my circumstances will never change. But the truth is, patience is not just about waiting for things to happen; it's about trusting in His character and plan.

I remember a time when I felt like God was moving too slow. I had been praying for a specific opportunity to share my story with others, but it seemed like every door I knocked on was met with silence. It was as if the universe was saying, "Ann, you're not ready yet." I felt like giving up, wondering if I'd ever be able to make a meaningful impact.

But then I read Psalm 27:14 – "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart; wait for the Lord." Wait. It's such a simple word, but it holds so much power. In that moment, I knew I had two choices: continue to push against God's plan or trust in His goodness and timing.

It wasn't easy, but I chose to practice patience. And you know what happened? The door I had been praying for opened, and my story began to take shape in ways I never could have imagined.

So, as I look back on that season, I'm reminded that practicing patience is not just about waiting; it's about trusting. It's about believing that God's plan is best, even when we can't see what He's doing.

I hope you'll join me in this journey of practicing patience and trusting in God's goodness. Let's wait on Him together, knowing that His timing is always perfect, and His plan is always better than ours.
